Importance of controlling high blood pressure through regular treatment
Professor Klause Dugi discusses why it's important for patients to control their high blood pressure.
'For patients it is especially important to understand that high blood pressure, even though it doesn't hurt, in most of the cases it's very important to treat because it significantly reduces their risk of experiencing stroke, myocardial infarction or heart failure in the future. So it's important for them to regularly measure their blood pressure, make sure they are adequately controlled, and if not talk to their doctor and change the hypertension treatment to control them better.'
